The best time to visit Gangtok is from late September to November and March to June. These autumn and spring-summer months experience a pleasant climate which is ideal for sightseeing. How to reach Gangtok

By Air: Bagdogra is the nearest Airport at 125 km. You can book a taxi in advance to take you up to Gangtok. Helicopter services are also available from Bagdogra to Gangtok (subject to operation ). It takes around 4 hours by taxi to reach Gangtok from Bagdogra airport.

By Train: The nearest railway station for Gangtok tourism is New Jalpaiguri (approx. 4 hours’ drive). Trains to New Jalpaiguri are available from a number of major Indian cities. From New Jalpaiguri, travelers can reach Gangtok by cab or by taking a bus from nearby Siliguri.

By Road: If you are planning a  Gangtok tour package or a road trip to Gangtok, you can also opt to reach Gangtok by cab or self-drive car from various other cities like Darjeeling, Siliguri, Kalimpong, etc. Private & Govt Both Buses from Siliguri are also frequent.
